MacDonald's sister, Angela Hill, was found unconscious in the house where McClain has been allowed to live; she'd been beaten in the head with the claw end of a hammer and left for dead. The mother and daughter were found about 2 a.m. after McClain and Suntich were stopped by police in Louisiana in Laura Hill's stolen sport utility vehicle. Angela Hill, who was going to school and working at a local Marshall's clothing store, had been in a relationship with McClain on and off for about six years, MacDonald said. "When I first met him, I thought he was a scumbag," she said. "He was very abusive toward my sister." |

Received from POPD at 101 pm, 6 10 11 Port Orange Mother found dead in Port Orange Update to previously issued press release: Next of kin has been notified and initial identification has been made by the Medical Examiner’s office. The deceased victim from this morning’s incident on Sunset Cove Drive appears to have been the victim involving blunt force trauma per the medical examiner’s office. The victim has been identified as 53 year old Laura J. Hill of Sunset Cove Drive in Port Orange. Her daughter, 25 year old Angela M. Hill, also of Sunset Cove Drive has been identified as the victim found seriously injured, however conscious, by Port Orange police officers earlier this date. Per Halifax Medical Center, Angela Hill underwent surgery earlier today and is listed in critical but stable condition in the ICU at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. The two subjects in custody by W. Baton Rouge, Louisiana law enforcement officials have been identified as 24 year old Tyler J. McClain of Port Orange and 25 year old Bradley A. Suntich of Port Orange. They remain incarcerated under a multitude of charges by the Louisiana officials. Port Orange detectives will be responding to Baton Rouge, Louisiana later this afternoon to continue the investigation regarding the death of Laura Hill and critical injury to Angela Hill. An autopsy will be performed by the Medical Examiner’s office on Monday June 13th to determine the cause of death to Ms. Laura Hill. Additional information concerning this investigation will be updated as it becomes available. Received from Port Orange Police Department 6 10 11 at 722 am Death Investigation, Sunset Cove DriveOn this date at approximately 02:10 hours, Port Orange Police responded to the 3800 block of Sunset Cove Drive in the Sunset Cove sub division at the request of the W. Baton Rouge Louisiana Sheriff’s Office. Officials in Baton Rouge were out with a crashed vehicle they had apparently pursued on Interstate 10. Two male occupants in the crashed vehicle provided information to the Baton Rouge Sheriff’s officials the registered owner of the vehicle they were fleeing in was the victim of a homicide in Port Orange and another female at the Sunset Cove residence was severely injured. Baton Rouge officials asked Port Orange Police officials to attempt contact at the residence. Port Orange officers attempted contact at the door with no response. However, officers heard what appeared to be a knocking noise coming from an upstairs location while they were at the front door. With the information learned from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, forced entry was made into the Port Orange residence by officers to conduct a well being check on any occupants. Once inside the residence, officers located a deceased female located in an upstairs bedroom, age mid 50’s, and a second female in another bedroom, age mid 20’s, severely injured however conscious. There were no other persons located inside the residence. The injured female was immediately transported to Halifax Medical Center and is currently undergoing surgery. Both subjects in W. Baton Rouge, Louisiana are currently in custody by that jurisdiction under a multitude of charges from the Louisiana agency. Next of kin for the deceased and names of individuals involved is currently being investigated. The investigation thus far indicates this was not a random act. Port Orange investigators continue working with Baton Rouge Law Enforcement officials, the Volusia County Homicide Task Force and the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office concerning this death investigation and incident.
